The family of Ruth Harms sadly announces her passing at St Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, March 26, 2010. Ruth was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 30, 1929. She met her husband Hank while working as a dietary aid at Dear Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They married on April 29, 1950 and spent many years in Winnipeg before moving to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and then settling in Thunder Bay in 1971. In the early years she loved her cottage in Grand Beach, Manitoba and later camping and travelling. Her family was her main focus and she enjoyed curling, petty point, knitting and her flower gardens. Ruth is survived by her sister Alice Robson of Regina, Saskatchewan, her children and their families; Bruce (Leonne), Nadine & Scott Campbell, Chad (Ashley); Terry (Liz) David and Matt; Andrea, Mitchell and Patrick McCall as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Hank, her parents, two brothers, one sister, and son-in-law Dave McCall. Cremation has taken place and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:00 am, at St. Thomas' Anglican Church, with the Venerable Archdeacon Andrew Hoskin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations to St Joseph’s Care Group, Hospice Unit or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Her children are thinking that Heaven has just received the funniest angel.
