Shirley Joyce Snowdon passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the age of 85 years.
Joyce was born on June 29, 1931 in Port Arthur, to Jemina and Angus McNaughton, the youngest of 3 girls. In her early years, she was an executive member of the Port Arthur Ski Club at Mount Baldy and a member of the Thunder Bay Flying Club.
She married Glen Snowdon on June 29, 1957, her 26th birthday. Joyce worked at Walter Brown Jewelers for numerous years. She was a member of the Royal Purple #14, and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. To Joyce family was always first and foremost.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughter Brenda Lea Seabrook (Kevin), her son Jason Willoughby (Alex) and his daughter Avery; stepson Tyler (Heather) Seabrook and their daughter Brin; stepdaughter Megan Seabrook (Damien) and her son Reid; son Jamie Snowdon (Charlene) and their son Andrew; Stepdaughter Jocelyn Peters (Sean) and their sons Tyler and Brady. Also surviving is his sister Betty Gillis and her family, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Glen in 2010.
The family would like to thank the staff of TBRHSC 2B for their kind and compassionate care for Mom.
Cremation has taken place and interment service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in the family plot at a later date. If friends and family so desire, any memorial donations may be made to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation in Joyce’s memory.
