Mr. Stefano Frattaroli, age 87 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at home on Monday, September 30th, 2024.

Stefano was born in Penne, Pescara, Italy on December 26, 1936, to Isidoro Frattaroli and Fiorina Ricci. Stefano immigrated to Canada in 1956 where he worked throughout Northwestern Ontario before stopping in Thunder Bay. In 1966, Stefano returned to Italy, where he married his beloved wife, Maria. They then journeyed back to Thunder Bay to begin their life together.

Stefano was an involved member of his community. He was a member of the Italian Society of Port Arthur, The Gran Sasso Club, and the Alpini Gruppo Di Thunder Bay. Stefano enjoyed gardening, going to camp, and making stews and cured meats for his family and friends. Family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the first and foremost in his life. It was during time spent with them that he was the happiest.

Stefano will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maria Frattaroli, son Robert (Laura) Frattaroli, grandchildren Rosemarie (Mitchell) MacLean, Emily (Austin Gombola), and Stefano Frattaroli, (Josie Bevacqua) and great-grandchildren Zoey and Ella MacLean, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Stefano was predeceased by his parents Isidoro Frattaroli and Fiorina Ricci, sister Maria Di Casmirro, and brothers Amadeo, Guido, and Ciro.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the 1A oncology unit at T.B.R.H.S.C, the Ontario Health/Palliative Care team, and the nurses at Paramed Home Health for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Stefano during his time with them.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church with Rev. Luigi Filippini officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Anthony’s Parish or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
