Mr. Stephen (Steve) Clement Zack age 90 years, a resident of Hogarth Riverview Manor passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2017.
Steve was a lifelong resident of the city, born to Joseph and Mary Zack pioneer residents of the East End. Steve worked at the family store in the East End, Zack’s Meat & Grocery on McIntosh Street. The family operated the store for over 70 years. In his early years he had a passion for boating and had a boat and boathouse at the end of McLaughlin Street on the banks of the Neebing River as well; he enjoyed sailing and fishing on Lake Superior. Steve was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Church.
He is survived by his brother Peter of Hogarth Riverview Manor 2 North Lavender, sister-in-law Mary Zack, nephews David (Judy), Alan (Cheryl), stepsister Genevieve Barabash and close friend David Verescak. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph, brother John, niece Linda Bascello, stepsisters Ann Paygar, Betty Krelove, Millie Moroniak and stepbrother Joseph Zack.
Cremation has taken place as per Steve’s wishes and there will be no service. Private interment will take place in the summer, in the family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery.

To Pam and Juliano Brusidan for spiritual music and praying with Steve at his bedside and for the special rosary that you gave to Steve, thank you very much, your two special people. To Mike Verescak for his help over the years, providing hospital visits and his companionship. To all the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor, 2 North Lavender, many of you went above and beyond your duties for which we are thankful for.
