Tammy Kozlowski
On December 8th, an angel was called to Heaven. It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the family of Tammy Lee Kozlowski announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother and sister, surrounded by her loving family in her happy home. After a courageous battle with cancer, she is now free of pain and suffering.

Tammy was born in Atikokan on February 8, 1961 to parents Arnold and Dorothy Bulger. The family relocated to Thunder Bay, where Tammy attended Crawford, Heath Park and Westgate High School.

At the age of 16, Tammy was faced with adversity. She lost her leg in a snowmobile accident. This did not define her. She was easy going, generous, kind spirited and truly a caring person. Her smile was infectious. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She had a big heart for all animals, especially her beloved cats Max and Misha.

Tammy met her soulmate Brian, and they were married for 36 years. They were blessed with their son Matthew in 1993. He was her pride and joy, and she loved her family deeply.

Together they enjoyed many years at Arrow Lake with their camp friends as well as many vacations (especially Florida) with long time friends Laura and Gord, Eileen and Jim.

Tammy was employed for 35 years at the Thunder Bay Police Department, where she formed long lasting friendships. She retired 5 years ago and enjoyed spending time bargain hunting with her sister Debbie, many lunch dates with friends and family as well as backyard barbecues next to the pool.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband Brian, son Matthew, sister Debbie (Donnie), brother Bob (Wendy), mother-in-law Ann, sister-in-law Maryann, brother-in-law Steve (Kathy), nieces Mandi (John, Brooklyn, Peyton), Alexandra, Jackie (Ian, Carter), Aunt Betty and numerous other relatives.

She was predeceased by her parents Arnold and Dorothy, father-in-law Steve, niece Stephanie and family friend Harry.

Special thanks to Erica and the nurses at St. Elizabeth Care Group, Dr. Valente, Dr. Bezanson, Dr. Del Paggio and the staff at the Thunder Bay Cancer Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Tammy to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society or St. Elizabeth Foundation (End of Life Care).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
