Mrs. Thora Marie Campbell, age 93 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospice, with her family by her side.
Thora was born on August 20, 1922 in Fort William, Ontario to Hugh and Hilda Burnie. She was educated locally and was employed by the Government as an Employment Counsellor, until retirement in 1983. Above all else, Thora's family was most important to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Thora is survived by her four sons, Rick (Theresa) Joseph, David Joseph, Gary Joseph and Gordon (Janice) Joseph; grandchildren Stacie Baranyk, Terrie Joseph (Gary Rogowski), Christopher (Karen) Joseph and Shannon (Jon) Bell; special great-grandchildren Cody Baranyk, Kelsey Baranyk, Millie Bell and Jack Joseph as well as her dear brother, Hugh (Alice) Burnie. She is also survived by her two special friends, Betty Pedersen and Nancy Storrey and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Gordon and her parents.
Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Thora Campbell will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00AM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, officiated by Rev. Randy Boyd. A private family interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.
Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Thora to the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Care Centre or St. Joseph's Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
