Timothy (Tim) Hans Michael Trush age 71 passed away at TBRHSC on Monday, May 27 2024 with those he loved the most by his side, his children, Tina and Jeff.

Tim was born September 10, 1952 to Marvin and Alma Trush. He attended Shuniah Public school and Gron Morgan High School.

Raised in Port Arthur he spent all his summers at West Loon Lake, being a grandson of Loon Lake pioneers Hans and Matilda Hogan. At the age of 17 his first job was with Noranda Explorations, staking claims and doing mineral exploratory work in remote Northern Ontario locations. He loved working outdoors.

In 1970, he followed his father and began work at Richardson’s Terminals where he remained until he retired in 2013 as the chief grain inspector.

Tim was a typical 1960’s guy and shortly after starting work he purchased his first muscle car, a 1968 Roadrunner. Weekends would see him and his friends cruising Port Arthur.

Tim became a father at the age of 18 when Tina was born, and again when Jeff came along 14 months later. He was so proud of his grandchildren and took great pleasure in news of their activities, and he loved his visits with “little baby” his great granddaughter.

Tim had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping which brought many adventures with close friends Murray, Dave, Phil, and Jake from weekends at “the Last Resort”, salmon fishing, and his yearly moose hunting adventures.

When Jeff became involved he beamed with such pride, as they became his passions also. Mastering the art of gardening, taking trips to Arizona, and playing golf filled Tim’s later years.

Predeceased by his father Marvin, and numerous aunts and uncles. Tim is survived by his mother Alma Trush, siblings Barry (Janice) Trush and Janet (Ron) Teras, children Tina (Robin) Zavagnin, Jeff (Jennifer) Trush, their mother Bonnie Trush, grandchildren Cassandra (Derek) Gottfried, Anthony, Josh (Kyla) Zavagnin, Travis Trush, great-granddaughter McKinley, and niece and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life is scheduled at Current River Rec Centre, on July 4, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank Tim’s many doctors, RN’s Ann Mary and Katelyn for their compassion in his last hours.

Thank you to Paramedics Brett and Chad, Kevin of the Paramedic Program, Derek and William from the Bayshore team, and Laurie, Tim’s personal home care worker, for all your caring, kindness and compassion.  And to the Nicholl’s family, your love for Dad throughout all the years will never be forgotten, he loved you!

Donations to Humane Society, Lung Association or Cancer Society would be appreciated. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
