It is with saddened hearts that the family of Todd Raymond Hokkanen announces his passing on January 22, 2016 at his home in Gorham Township.
Todd was born on May 20, 1964 to parents Raymond and Beverly Hokkanen of Gorham Township, where he lived his whole life.
Todd enjoyed restoring vehicles and was passionate about his trade. He was a truck and coach mechanic who was employed at Thunder Pine Leasing.
He also worked at DeBeers Diamond Mine, Snap Lake Diamond Mine, Man Roc in Thompson, Manitoba and Kenworth Dealership in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Aside from his work, Todd enjoyed nature. He loved camping, fishing, cutting his own wood, mountain biking and blueberry picking.
Todd will be lovingly remembered by his parents Raymond and Beverly; his partner Robin; children Elisa (Kevin), Lydia (Chris), Jamie (Cynthia) and Aiden. Also surviving Todd are his grandchildren Liam and Scarlette; sisters Kathy (Wayne) and Kimberly (Eric); nephews Chris (Tuula), Kari, Essa (Ashley) and Dillon and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Todd was predeceased by his grandparents Einar and Ida Hokkanen and Wray and Viola Broughton.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 47 Walkover Street, presided by Rev. Brian Falkenholt. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Todd’s memory to the Canadian Injured Workers Alliance, Thunder Bay, Ontario or charity of your choice.
