It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Tom Gebhart Buob announces his unexpected passing February 21, 2015 at his Thunder Bay residence. Tom was born in Geraldton but grew up on a farm in O’Connor. He worked at Northern Woods and Bombardier. He was a hard worker and took great pride in his job.
Tom had a heart of gold, he loved animals and would help anyone in need. Tom liked all kinds of racing and NASCAR. He enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and socializing with friends. Tom’s warm smile and great personality will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Tom is survived by his sister Susan (Rod) Corbett; brothers Peter Buob and Dave (Darlene) Buob; step-mother Pina Buob and his nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Kate, Jeff, Brad, Amy and Jennifer.
Predeceased by his parents Agnes and Karl Buob, his brother Johnny and sister Helen.
I think of Tom in silence,
His name I often call
There’s nothing left to answer,
But his picture on the wall
What we would give if we could say,
We’ll go see Tom today
To hear his voice, to see him smile,
To sit and talk with him awhile
To us he was someone special,
Someone good and true
You will never be forgotten Tom,
For we thought the world of you
For those who have a brother,
Cherish them with care
For you never know the heartache,
Until you see his empty chair
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you,
Only one will ever know
A private family gathering for Tom Buob will be held on February 28, 2015. A Celebration of Life with friends will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
