It is with a heavy heart that the family of Victoria Holomego announce her peaceful passing on May 30, 2024 at Hogarth Riverview Manor.

Born in Fort William to Micheal and Nizi Gunn, 96 yrs ago (May 24,1928) Vicki grew up in the East End with her brother Paul. She married William Holomego Sr
on May 31,1947 and together they had two children, Lyn and William Jr. (Bill).

Vickie was thrilled with the birth of her grandsons Ryan, Kyle, Christopher and her great grandson Nicholas. She was a doting BaBa who was so proud of her boys.

Vickie loved the many jobs she had throughout her life because she loved talking with people. She worked with her husband at Peterson’s Furniture and spent
many years at the Port Arthur Clinic,Amethyst House and Walmart. Alongside her husband, Vickie was instrumental in the development of the Volunteer Pool.

Most famous for her tasty pierogies Vickie also made amazing cookies and cakes. Her knitted and crochet sweaters, blankets, hats/mitts are family treasures. She loved to garden (especially flowers) to feed the birds but her greatest joy was being with her family and time spent with her grandsons.

Vickie was predeceased by her husband Bill in Dec. 1981 and her cherished daughter Lyn in Aug. 2014. She was also predeceased by her brother Paul and his
wife Anne Gunn and best friend Liz Gerard. Victoria is survived by her son Bill & wife Janet, Grandsons Ryan and wife Gisele, Kyle, Chris & wife Kelsey (Wasa
B.C.) and Great Grandson Nicholas.

The family would like to thank the incredible staff of 2S (Bluebell) Hogarth Riverside for the wonderful care provided to Victoria in the short time she was a resident. Thanks also to the staff of Sister Lelia Greco for the attention provided to her over the past 3 years.

Sincere thank you to Myrna Lee, Lelia, Karen, lifelong friends of Vickie’s daughter Lyn, who remembered Vickie on all occasions especially Myrna Lee who called Vickie every Wednesday for the past 10 yrs.

Before losing much of her sight Vickie loved to do puzzles, read books and she loved the library. For those who wish to remember her, donations to the Thunder
Bay Public Library would be appreciated.

As per Victoria’s wishes Cremation has taken place and a private interment in the family plot of Riverside Cemetery will occur at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
