It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent Stolz announce his passing on Monday February 6 2023, at Pioneer Ridge, with family by his side.

Vince was born January 14 1930 in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. As a young man, he helped out on his family farm, and quickly took note of a beautiful young lady named Ilene who was helping out on her Uncle’s farm nearby. Dad would visit her often, and they began to date. They married in November of 1952 in North Battleford Saskatchewan, they then bought a log cabin, and started our family.

Dad took a job at Shipplets Dairy where he made different ice creams, and butter. He also held a second job as the dog pound caretaker. In 1968, Mom and Dad moved to Paipoonge, Ontario where they bought Farmland, and after painting for a company he decided to open his own business called ‘MountainSide Paintingʼ, which was successful right up to his retirement.

Dad loved spending time with family, and friends, and proudly coordinated many special family events and gatherings, including a reunion, corn roasts, a baseball team called the South Neebing Sluggers, horseshoe tournaments, and card games. Dad's greatest enjoyment was his family farm, where he raised chickens, turkeys, pigs, and a milk cow. His dog Spotty was his faithful companion for many years. He enjoyed gardening, and planted a variety of vegetables, including enough pumpkins for everyone. He shared his garden harvest, and was proud to give his fresh farm produce to family, friends, and neighbours.

His field of sunflowers were more beautiful, and bright each passing year. Dad was always creating fun times for his kids, and grand kids, some activities included skating rinks, sledding hills, snow forts, snowmobiling trails, mopeds, and bikes to ride. Dad enjoyed watching NHL hockey, particularly the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Winnipeg Jets. Dad loved having huge bon fires, and fireworks, and on weekends you could find family and friends socializing around his fire.

Vince was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Moose #844, where camping at the Moose Lodge at Cloud Lake became the family’s summer getaway for many years. He faithfully enjoyed attending, and volunteering for Sunday mass at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, and also Blake church.

Vince will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ilene of 70 years; Children, Angie Shields, Kathleen Olson, Carol Brading (Tim), Sharon Carroll (Pat), Geraldine Wachoski, Gerry, Herman, Wanda (Jeff), Cindy (Jim), Jennifer Lepage (Mike). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren, his siblings, Barbara Clara, Angie Fournier, and Bob Stolz (Bev). Vince was predeceased by his parents, Regina and Joseph Stolz. His son Wayne Stolz, also his sons in law Dan Shields, and Brian Wachoski. His brothers George (Jean), Stan (Doris), Nick (Alma), Tony (Teresa), Peter (Emma), sisters Rose (Adam), and Anne (Lyle). Also, his brother in laws Bill Clara, and Ray Fournier.

The family of Vince Stolz would like to thank Dr. Zaib (TBRHSS-3A staff), all the staff at Pioneer Ridge, Sheila (DON), Nurses Rhonda and Carol, Karen, and Chris (rec therapy). We would also like to thank Harbourview Funeral Centre for their guidance and care, and Reverend Francisco Blazek, for his prayers and blessings for our Mom and Dad.
