Mrs. Violet Irene Nekuliak, age 72 years passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospice on Thursday, June 23, 2011 with family by her side.
Violet was born and raised in Danbury, Sask., where she met Bill and in 1956 they were married and started a family.
After several moves, Bill and Violet settled in Thunder Bay with their family. Violet enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, going out to camp, picking blueberries and mushrooms and hunting partridge with Bill. Her main interest was spending time with her family.
Survived by her husband Bill of 54 years, children Brad (Diane), Brenda (John) Suteu, Owen (Daniela) and Lynn (Richard) Perrier; grandchildren Nicole, Chelsea, Jeremy (Lyndsay), Kerry Ann, Chris, Victoria, Erica, Alicha and Ricky; great grandson Quinton, sister Arlene (Dwayne) Holm as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Dan and Nettie Artemchuck and brother Peter Artemchuck.
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Violet Nekuliak will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Everest Funeral Chapel,299 Waverley St. at Algoma. Interment will take place at a later date.
If friends so desire donations to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation in memory of Violet would be appreciated by the family.
