William "Bill" Orlesky, a cherished family man and master of the grill, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 81 in Terrace Bay, Ontario, after a sudden heart attack. Born on April 17, 1943, in Geraldton, Ontario, Bill grew up to be a loving, thoughtful, and kind-hearted individual who left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Bill spent over three decades as a skilled boiler maker at the Terrace Bay Pulp Mill, where his dedication and work ethic were evident to all his colleagues. He was a respected member of his trade and took great pride in his craft.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was a man who truly enjoyed the simple pleasures. He was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, especially when he was at the helm of a BBQ, flipping burgers and grilling steaks to perfection. His barbecues were legendary, and they became a cherished tradition that brought together neighbours, friends, and loved ones in joy and laughter.

Bill's life was marked by the love he shared with his late wife, Linda, who predeceased him. Together, they raised a family that was the center of Bill's world. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Cindy, and his son, David, teaching them the values of kindness and generosity that he embodied. Bill's role as a grandfather was one he cherished deeply, sharing special moments with his grandsons, Christopher and Justin. Christopher's girlfriend, Beth-Ann, and great-granddaughter, Laila, held a special place in his heart, as did his sister-in-law, Katherine Pidluzny, and his brothers, George and Stephen Orlesky.

Bill's presence was a comfort and a source of stability for his family, and his guidance was a light that will continue to shine in their lives. His love for his family was unwavering, and he was often the first to offer help or a listening ear whenever it was needed.

A man of few words, Bill expressed his love through his actions. Whether it was a thoughtful gesture or a kind word, he always knew how to make others feel valued and loved. His ability to listen and provide wise counsel was a gift to many, and his gentle nature made him a confidant to friends and family alike.

As we say goodbye to Bill, we reflect on a life well-lived and full of love. His legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and a life rich with relationships that were nurtured over time with care and affection. Bill's memory will be carried forward in the stories shared at family gatherings, the laughter around barbecues, and the quiet moments when we remember his gentle spirit.

William "Bill" Orlesky's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the strength of kindness, and the power of love. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will remain a comforting presence to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Bill's family takes solace in knowing that he lived a full life, surrounded by those he loved, doing the things he enjoyed the most.

Rest in peace, Bill.
