MONTREAL – Molly Carlson made history on Sunday.

The Thunder Bay diver finished first in the women’s event at the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series stop in Montreal’s Old Port, which marked the first time that the tour has held an event in Canada.

“My goal of four out of four dives came true because of the atmosphere and the energy,” Carlson said in a post-event interview with Red Bull TV.

“It was almost like they (the spectators) took over my body and it just happened naturally. It was so special and a moment that I will never forget.”

Carlson, who lives and trains in Montreal, put together a score of 368.10 points in her four dives.

It’s her second win of the season, with her first coming at the season opener in Athens, Greece.

Carlson is currently second in the women’s standings behind Australia’s Rhiannan Iffland.

The World Series continues on Sept. 29 in Antalya, Turkey and wraps up on Nov. 10 in Sydney, Australia.
