Since opening its doors in 1989, Wakefield Oil Change Plus has prided itself on being locally owned and operated and keeping Thunder Bay’s cars running.
As the original quick lube oil change stop in Thunder Bay, Wakefield knows that everyone loves their vehicle and want to help keep them on the road for as long as possible.
No appointment is required for their 10-minute oil change service. The driver stays in their vehicle as the team does a full 21-point inspection, replaces the oil filter (if needed), does a fluid check and top off (it needed) and a tire pressure check.
In addition to oil changes, the team also does general repairs for vehicle maintenance, along with tire sales and seasonal tire swaps.
With de-icing chemicals used on the roads during the winter combined with high humidity in the summer, the perfect environment for rust is created.
Wakefield Oil Change Plus helps to combat that with Corrosion Free Rust Protection, which is the only one used by the Canadian Armed Forces.
Away from the shop, Wakefield Oil Change Plus is involved with dirt track racing. Their Lube Monkey Racing team supports various drivers that compete at the Thunder City Speedway and elsewhere each summer.
They are also the official retailer in Northwestern Ontario for Renegade Racing Fuels, which is renowned for its high performance, consistency and quality among competitive racers and those who use it for off-road trail riding.
Wakefield Oil Change Plus is located at 311 Cumberland St. N and is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
