THUNDER BAY – The province is hosting a series of pop-up rapid antigen test kit giveaways in Thunder Bay this week.

According to the Ontario government website, the highly sought-after rapid test kits will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., while supplies last, at Edgewater Park Public School.

There will be a limit of one test kit per person.

The test kits are described at an additional screening tool for asymptomatic individuals and are not to be used for diagnostic purposes. The province last week announced it was reserving the more reliable molecular PCR tests for those in high-risk settings, such as long-term care and hospitals.

Those who have COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed to a COVID-19 positive person are not to visit the pop-up site.

Edgewater Park Public School is located at at 511 Victoria Ave. W.
