Dubinsky rink improves to 2-0 at U18s

Thunder Bay rink downed Ontario's Charlotte Wilson 7-4 on Tuesday to grab a second straight win at nationals.

SASKATOON – Thunder Bay’s Claire Dubinsky is on a roll at the U18 Curling Championships in Saskatoon.

Dubinsky, lead Lily Ariganello, second Bella McCarville and third Rylie Paul scored a 7-4 win over Ottawa’s Charlotte Wilson on Tuesday, improving to 2-0.

The game-changer was a four scored in the third end, erasing Team Ontario No. 2’s early 2-0 lead. She added two more in the fifth and stole a single in the sixth to go up 7-3.

Dubinsky is tied atop the Pool C standings in the girls’ event, with Saskatchewan’s Renee Wood rink (1-1) on tap on Tuesday night.

Alberta’s Abby Desmoreau is also 2-0, after beating Quebec No. 1 on Monday afternoon.
