LETTER: Gigantic recycling bins will be a challenge for some residents

However, attempting to haul not one but three bins large enough to hide an adult human within as well as myself is insurmountable.

To the editor,

Much is said about the positive aspects of assisting seniors to remain in their own homes. I am 82 years old and despite many challenges I am able financially to remain in my home by renting out parts of it.

The Ontario Landlord and Tenant Board makes this increasingly difficult by their total lack of support but I manage. This new issue, gigantic recycle bins, is the latest challenge.

Three of these are now on the sidewalk in front of my home. There are seven steps up to the sidewalk which constitute a challenge but not an insurmountable one for me to get to the sidewalk.

However, attempting to haul not one but three bins large enough to hide an adult human within as well as myself is insurmountable.

These bins are on the sidewalk where they were left and that, I must say, is where they will remain. I guess my recycling days are over unless someone comes up with a reasonable solution.
