THUNDER BAY — As temperatures fluctuate, teasing spring-like weather, the city is reminding residents that outdoor rinks are still open.
In a news release issued Friday, Cory Halvorsen, manager of parks and open spaces, made it clear rinks will be open during March Break.
"We are doing everything we can to keep as many rinks open as possible while ensuring safety and quality skating conditions." he said.
The ice at Prince Arthur’s Landing is refrigerated and will remain open throughout March, as it can withstand warmer conditions.
Residents are encouraged to check the city's Outdoor Rinks Map for real-time updates on rink closure status due to ice conditions.
