KINGSTON, Ont. – Evan Mignault was the last-minute hero for the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday night.

The rookie forward scored with 43 seconds to go in regulation, handing LU its second straight OUA men’s hockey win, a 2-1 decision over the host RMC Paladins.

It was Mignault’s second career goal with the Thunderwolves, who opened the scoring in the second while shorthanded, Carson Dubchak netting his fourth of the campaign.

The game also marked the return of Billy Jenkins to the Lakehead lineup. He picked up an assist on the game-winner.

John Livingston tied the game early in the third on the power play for the Paladins.

Devin Green made 31 saves between the pipes for LU, Matthew Murphy stopping 26 in the RMC net.

Fifth-place Lakehead (5-4-1) takes on RMC (3-8-0)  again on Saturday night and returns home next weekend for a pair against Guelph.
