Ultimate Gymnastics is getting set to celebrate the 1st birthday of Chalky, the gymnastics club’s extremely popular mascot on Sunday, February 5th.
Everyone is welcome to attend the celebration, which will take place at Flavours Froyo & Beyond from 12:00 – 2:00 pm.
The open house event offers both children and adults the opportunity to drop in and wish Happy Birthday to Chalky, who, in his very busy first year appeared at several dozen community events meeting hundreds of aspiring young athletes while promoting the sport of gymnastics, including the Teddy Bears Picnic, Live at the Waterfront, Thunder Bay Border Cats games, Salvation Army Kettle Campaign and Canada Day at Marina Park.
Chalky, born after an in-house Name the Mascot contest, enjoys gymnastics, blueberries & honey, and cites Yogi Bear as his favourite movie.
There will be free Chalky trading cards and stickers along with the opportunity for photographs and autographs.
Ultimate Gymnastics, currently in its third year of record growth, offers thee best instruction from the most experienced coaches in Gymnastics, Parkour and Tumbling. Several of the club’s coaches are recent former high-level provincial competitive athletes. Ownership is set to announce the hiring of a brand new head coach in the coming weeks, after a lengthy, worldwide search that spawned the far reaches of the globe.
