OLIVER PAIPOONGE – Tuesday’s blast of snow across the region has led to a pair of Superior International Junior Hockey League games to be postponed.
The league announced on Tuesday morning that a matchup between the Kam River Fighting Walleye and the Sioux Lookout Bombers at the Norwest Arena has been called off.
The game will be made up at a later date.
A contest that was to be held in Vermillion Bay between the Red Lake Miners and the Kenora Islanders was postponed by the league on Monday night.
SIJHL play is slated to resume Friday with all eight teams in action.
The Fighting Walleye are hosting the Islanders, the Fort Frances Lakers visit the Miners, the Bombers entertain the Dryden Ice Dogs and the Thunder Bay North Stars head down to Michigan to take on the Ironwood Lumberjacks.
