NORTHWEST NARWHALS

Elly Bodnar and Katherine Warkentin swam their way to an outstanding representation for the Northwest Narwhal’s Swim Club this past weekend in Windsor, Ontario.
Swimming in the 2020 Annual Winter Ontario Short Course Festival Championship.
Both girls competed in the 10 and under age group competing in several events.
Overall the Narwhals paced 29th in a field of 81 teams from the best swimmers in Ontario.
This was quite remarkable considering they were the only two swimmers representing the club.
They both shone in their individual events with Katherine placing 5th in the 50-meter Breaststroke, 10th in the 200-meter Freestyle, 4th in the 100-meter Breaststroke, 8th in the 200-meter Individual Medley and 7th in the 400-meter Free.
She collected four ribbons for her efforts.
Elly collected two medals at the meet, receiving a bronze in the 100-meter Individual Medley, a silver in the 100-meter freestyle event. She also received ribbons for 4th in the 200-meter Individual Medley, and 4th in the 400-meter freestyle event.
They made the entire club proud of their efforts.
The girls, along with the rest of the Narwhal’s Swim Club will be competing this weekend at the 2nd Annual Northwest Narwhal’s/Exterior Finishing Long Course Meet being held this weekend (Feb. 29 – March 3) at the local Lakehead University Pool.
