The Chorizo Burger from El Tres is a tasty take on the Novemburger.
This Mexican fusion burger features a house-made patty that combines chorizo with ground chuck. It's undeniably flavourful, although the texture is on the crumbly side.
That's topped with a queso sauce, a pile of crispy fried onions, fresh pico de gallo, and smeared with a salsa quemado (fire roasted salsa) aioli.
The pico was quite nice and complimented the savoury patty. Unfortunately, the fried onions lost their crispiness almost immediately. The texture would have been a welcome addition. The queso and aioli were largely lost under the rest.
The burger is not at all spicy, which will be good news for some.
The burger is served with a side of tater tots that are worth a mention. These are hands down the best tater tots you'll ever eat.
The burger comes to $22 before tax and tip. $2 from that and every Novemburger sold this month goes to the local United Way.
This burger can be made gluten free.
El Tres is located at 269 Red River Rd.
