It’s pretty easy to tell why Station 22’s 2024 Novemburger entry – The BBQ Beer Burger – had been purchased at least 1,000 times as of Nov. 19.
For starters, the smash burger has provolone cheese, shredded lettuce and pickles, which makes for a pretty good combination.
Then they utilize Dawson Trail Craft Brewery beers to flavour the other toppings on the burger, which are named after some of the beers you can get while enjoying a meal.
Those topping are Border Run braised onions, Oater Limits stout bacon, Bae’s Haze barbecue sauce and Plinth remoulade.
After using my phone to learn what exactly a remoulade was – a French sauce similar to tartar sauce – I was expecting to be spending more time figuring out everything that was happening in between the buns in between bites. But that wasn’t the case at all.
Nothing is overwhelming the different flavours, it's all coherent and it’s pretty easy to chow down.
The meal, which comes with a side of potato wedges or a salad, costs $19.00 before tax. The burger by itself if $14.00 before tax.
